Great Escape: Find 'Me Time' at Glazed & Amused

Calling all North Canton moms: Welcome to Patch.com's newest weekly lifestyle column. We're introducing ways to enjoy the Great Escape — the couple of precious hours every week where you indulge in yourself

Your teens are attending Hoover High sporting events on Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening.

It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much-deserved break, and make your life a little easier –  maybe a whole lot easier.

This weekend, explore your artistic side! Visit and enjoy the expressions of some talented local artists. Best of all, admission is free!

After viewing some amazing art, you may want to get your hands dirty. That's where North Canton's own comes in! Treat yourself, your friends or your significant other to a relaxing evening of painting your own pottery.

The best part is that you get to keep it after the staff fires the kiln up and gives it a final roast! The staff is friendly and will help you every step of the way.

You'll arrive and choose any piece of unpainted pottery, ranging from $7 up to $30. You will also be assessed a studio charge of half the price of each individual piece, which covers the use of all glazes and art supplies. For most pieces, expect to spend under $25 per person. With over 400 different pieces to choose from, you're sure to find something that you'll love!
