FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Monday is Presidents Day. What a great time to introduce your kids — especially those who are a little older — to Stark County’s own McKinley Presidential Library and Museum and the National First Ladies’ Library Education and Research Center. There is much for parents and children to learn and uncover at these local destinations.

This week's picks include historical sites, a cartoon party, a children’s book party and a family movie night. Choose from this week’s array of activities to enjoy with your children.

1. President’s Day activities at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum

Why Go: The Library and Museum will celebrate Presidents Day with numerous activities throughout the day, including McKinley Gallery tours honoring Canton’s own President William McKinley at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Check out a special planetarium show at 1 p.m. Snacks will be available for purchase as well. What a great way to spend time with your children on their day off of school!

Why Go: Watch films about the first ladies and view rare books in the library, which is a replica of the first White House Library created by First Lady Abigail Fillmore.
