Grab & Go Kids Planner: Chocolate Party, Art Class and More

Pick and choose from this week's array of highlighted activities around the North Canton area to do with children of all ages

Looking for something to do with your kids this weekend? Next question: Looking to keep it local? We kept both those things in mind when putting together this week's Grab & Go Kids Planner.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

1. Parent and Tot Free Time at the Massillon Recreation Center

When/Where: 10 a.m.- noon Thursday at the Massillon Recreation Center, 505 Erie St. N, Massillon
Why Go: Children ages 2-4, alongside mom or dad, can enjoy free play on tumbling mats, slides and tricycles and with hoops, balls and bats. The Massillon Parks and Recreation Department brings the park inside each Thursday in the Center’s gymnasium. Let your little ones expel some of that bottled-up energy this week.
Pricing: Adults and 4-year-olds, $6. Children 3 and under, free

2.  Art Class at the

When/Where:  6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the North Canton Public Library, 185 N. Main St.
Why Go: Watch the creativity of your own junior high student come alive during this instructional art class for those in grades 6-8.
Pricing: Free. Art materials are provided

3. Silverlicious Celebration at

When/Where: 2 p.m. Saturday at the Borders Bookstore, 6751 Strip Ave. NW
Why Go: Young Pinkalicious fans, ages 4-8, can celebrate Silverlicious, a new book by Victoria Kann, with games, crafts, giveaways and even a Pinkalicious Parade.
Pricing: Free

4. Chocolate Party at

When/where: 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at the North Canton Library, 185 N. Main St.
Why Go: There is no cost for the Chocolate Party. Children can see how chocolate is made and take home the treats they create. The event is just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Pricing: Free for children in grades 1-5

5. Pajamas Story Time at the Plain Community Library

When/Where: 7-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Plain Community Library, 1803 Schneider St. NE, Canton
Why Go: Parents will enjoy this special time with their children, who are encouraged to come in their favorite pajamas. Families will listen to stories together before heading home for bed. The activity is for children of all ages.
Pricing: Free but registration is suggested. Contact the library at 330-494-3399
