Fire Department Accepting Pet Food, Supplies for St. Pet's Day Drive

Donate dog and cat supplies to the fire station to support St. Pets Day through the month of March

We aren't the only ones suffering in a bad economy — sometimes pets go hungry too! Through the month of March, St. Pet's Day is asking residents to consider making pet food and cat litter donations to local fire stations.

And the once again is taking part.

St. Pet's Day is a month-long pet food donation drive sponsored by the Celtic Club in Summit, Stark and Portage counties.

All the pet food will go to support humane societies and animal rescue groups throughout the area.

Drop-off sites accept dry dog and cat food and cat litter. Organizer Jim Collver said he’ll collect the items at the end of the month and take them to the counties’ dog wardens. From there, humane and animal rescue groups will pick up the items.
