Circle Hill Road Home Aglow With More than 5,000 Lights

The Circle Hill Road home of Corey and Christopher Balazowich has the best holiday lights in North Canton, according to results from Patch's annual Deck the House contest.

Corey Balazowich has a lifetime of Christmas-decorating memories associated with the home. And one of those memories was reincarnated this year with the addition of a six-foot-round peace sign in the front yard.

“My mom grew up in this house, we bought it from her dad and I grew up here and now I live here with my husband,” she explained via email.

(Balazowich is the daughter of the late Jim and Marcia Doyle and granddaughter of the late Donald and Lavina Currie, the home's previous owners.)

The peace sign, made of steel by Christopher Balazowich, pays homage to Jim Doyle.

“When I was in sixth grade my Dad made a big peace sign and put it on the house. This was around the time of the Gulf War, but I think war hadn't been declared yet," Corey wrote. "My Mom was SO EMBARRASSED. She was so mad at him for it. However, I thought it was the best thing ever and loved seeing it on our house. So we decided to honor my Dad with the peace sign this year.”

The Balazowiches decide on their decorating scheme together, then Christopher hangs the lights on the roof while Corey does the ones on the ground. She guesses their home is aglow with about 5,000 multi-colored LED lights.

“We've always done lights but it has grown a bit by each year. It's fun,” she wrote.
