Cessna's Italian Restaurant to Make a Comeback in North Canton

City officials confirmed the family-owned Italian restaurant will make its return to South Main Street, but in a different location

If you've noticed the "Cessna's" sign in the 700 block of South Main Street and wondered if the family-owned Italian restaurant is on its way back to town, it is.

The restaurant, which opened at 1212 S. Main St. in November 2009 and closed about a year later is making a comeback, according to North Canton Economic Development Director Eric Bowles.

According to a 2009 Canton Repository story, the family (Joan and Clayton Cessna and their son Vince) had dreamed of opening the restaurant and felt then that it was the right time.

"People have rallied behind us, even with the way things have been going with the economy," Joan Cessna told the Canton Rep. "We’ve been blessed."

Bowles said the restaurant closed when Demico's Pizzeria bought their property inside the South Main Street plaza.
