Brews After Five, Panera's 'Pink Ribbon' Bagels & More: 5 Things to Know

What's to know this week? Well, your commute through the city may be affected by some lane closures, Brews After Five is coming up and the library is closed one day this week.

1. is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoover Park. Your local editor and Patch contributor  (both members of the Brews After Five host committee) have been working hard to get the word out. So come join them for a great time with music () and an eclectic lineup of beers.

2. The will be closed Tuesday for a systems upgrade.

3. Consider picking up a "pink ribbon" bagel at this week. A portion of proceeds will go to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation to find a cure for breast cancer. Panera Bread has lots more information on its Facebook page!

4. We've got a few road/lane closures to report this week. There's a lane restriction between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday at Main and Maple streets. The lane restriction is primarily on Main Street but will affect traffic flow through that area on Maple as well, according to the city.

We've also got road closure and lane restrictions on Glenwood Avenue SW from Linwood Avenue to Lindy Lane that will occur between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. today. Keep an eye out for the posted detour route.

5. The Pleasures of Matter exhibit opens today at . Exhibition hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. The exhibit will be open through Oct. 28. Featured artists are Kortney Niewierski, Isabel Farnsworth, Clare Murray Adams, Kate Budd and Susan McClelland. A reception takes place Wednesday, with an artists' talk at 5:30 p.m. and reception from 6-7:30 p.m.
