Best Spot for Mother's Day Brunch: This Week's Readers' Choice

Where — in North Canton — do you like to go to show off Mom and eat some good food?

Giving Mom breakfast in bed on Mother's Day might be a bit of a challenge for some of us. Either we're not great cooks, or we don't have a large enough bed tray.

(Really, Mom doesn't care. We're certain she would love anything you did for her on Mother's Day!)

The alternative is to take Mom out for brunch. So many advantages: the kitchen stays clean; you get to dress up; and you have the opportunity to show off Mom. Plus you get to eat some good food, too.

So this week's Readers' Choice focuses on Best Spot for Mother's Day Brunch. Beginning today -- Monday, April 30 -- and through 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, we'll be asking for your recommendations for who has the best Mother's Day brunch spot in town.

This would be a place where you can get fancy breakfast dishes with some lunchy items as well, plus perhaps indulgences such as desserts, mimosas or Bloody Marys.

Give us your recommendation in the comments section below. With your help, we'll put together a list of nominees. Then look for our poll on Thursday, May 3 and vote! We'll select a winner at 5 p.m. Friday, May 4 and announce it in a story on Saturday, May 5.

In judging, we'll consider comments, poll votes and reviews in our complete directory of local businesses. Be sure to check out our contest rules in the PDF at right.

The Fieldcrest of North Canton. Their Sunday brunch is amazing! Make reservations and definitely go there hungry. You won't be disappointed.

Sorry Joe, I have to disagree. I was there once on Mother's Day and it was the worst experience ever. We had made reservations, but the hostesses were not following them and we had an hour+ wait, when we finally got seated, food was sparse, cold, over/undercooked and not being refilled (regardless there was still 1.5 hours of brunch left.) Service was horrible!
I've also been there for another brunch and catered event and it has always had similar experiences. :( I want to love them because I think it's cool that it's non-profit and benefits education, but I just can't bring myself to return.

I'd like to nominate 356 Fighter Group. The food is always fresh and tasty, service is good, great views and a lot of seating, even for very large groups!
(I have also done Mother's Day brunch at Zoar's Tavern and it has been really good, too, but obviously that is not in North Canton ;) I'm not even sure 356 is?)

Yep! We've got 356 in our Directory.
It's really cool that we're seeing some restaurant nominations we've never had before. Keep'em coming!

We are always fond of going to Variety's after church for brunch. I normally eat salad and soup, everyone else gets omelets!

Gervasi! They have a special Mother's Day menu including their amazing Nutella dessert. Buy mom a wine tasting or cooking class or a gift certificate to the Marketplace or a piece of Vietri pottery. She will never forget it!

What cities have outlawed cell phone usage while driving? Have you seen law enforcement breakingRead More those laws in those cities?
Fred Benson June 4, 2013 at 07:08 pm
Try Beechwood. $106 fine if caught. But the point of my post is, anyone driving and using a handRead More held phone are endangering others. The local police should be setting an example of safe driving rather than encouraging its use.

Police and other first responders OFTEN have to use their phones to call other departments,Read More hospitals and resources they use that they can't contact by radio. That's like saying a police officer or ambulance should have to follow the speed limits.
