5 Things You Should Know About North Canton This Week

A pet food drive kicks off at the North Canton Fire Department and a couple more cool features make their way to North Canton Patch

1. A pet food drive through St. Pet’s Day kicks off this week throughout Stark, Portage and Summit counties. The , 300 N. Main St., joins about 80 other locations as a collection site. Expect a little more information on this program this week on North Canton Patch.

2. The North Canton City Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall. Look in the PDFs section of this story for tonight’s agenda.

3. Frank Kemp Jr. of the recently was promoted to sergeant, and we’ll take a little time this week to congratulate him and help you learn a little more about him.

4. We’ll start a new weekly feature on North Canton Patch this week. It’s a series of videos called “You Said It,” and it involves residents talking on camera about a topic specific to the Patch. Keep a look out for this week’s series! Cleveland Heights Patch was the first site in our group to kick off .

5. We’re looking for your thoughts on the first column in Donna J. Noble’s series called  It’s part of her weekly “Growth Chart” column. On Sunday, she asked viewers how they encourage their children. Stop by sometime this week to check out what other parents are saying. And one of the cool things about Donna is she may use your comments to fuel upcoming columns.
