5 Things You Should Know About North Canton This Week

Here's what's happening in and around the city this week

1. You all know North Canton City Council meets each and every Monday night (save for the fifth Monday of every month). But guess what? Not this week! Council is on summer vacation and will be off for the next few weeks. Council members did tell us, though, they may schedule a meeting or two this summer if they need to.

2. North Canton Patch is , so make sure to send those in to Editor Morgan Day this week. We're looking for photos that scream "summer!" That means hiking, swimming, sunshine and whatever else reminds you of summertime.

3. Editor will talk to the summer camp today about leadership and online journalism. There may be an update out of it, so make sure to stay tuned!

4. Have you marked off your calendar yet for ? We wrote about it last week after Bill Strohmenger, chairman of the , talked about it at the North Canton City Council met Monday night.

We plan to bring you some more information before the meeting this week in addition to covering the meeting. So make sure to stop back to North Canton Patch to catch it all.

5. If you're not going to be at the Master Plan meeting, we've got two other options for you (not quite in North Canton, but close enough!):

  • The Joie de Vivre Laser and Medical Spa Grand Opening Celebration is from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. Check out for more information!
  • One of our favorite local artists, Ryan Humbert, will perform under the stars at Gervasi Vineyard at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15, and we'd recommend getting them as soon as you can. Find out more about Humbert's shows here.

I really, really hope there is strong attendance at the Master Plan meeting. It's no accident that San Luis Obispo became the Happiest City in America - they went through this process a few years ago and here's what they came up with. http://tinyurl.com/422s8fe With good attendance and good ideas, we can do this too!
