5 Things You Should Know About North Canton This Week

City council and North Canton City Schools Board of Education both meet this week. Plus there's a huge benefit for two local police officers coming up Saturday that you might want to know about!

1. . We were so excited to see this Twitter handle show up this weekend that we had to include it in our 5-things list. Follow this North Canton ice cream stand and see what’s in store for the summer. (And follow us, too!)

2. North Canton City Council will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in North Canton City Hall. Find tonight’s agenda in the PDFs section of this update.

3. The Rubber City Warthogs will host the Rubber City Blues Festival and Benefit for fallen Uniontown Police Capt. Daniel Stiles and injured Springfield Township Police Officer Mark Dodez, also a graduate. The  will headline the show. And how’s a poker run sound? Registration for the ride begins at 10:30 a.m., and the last bike heads out at 1 p.m. Find fliers for the event in the photos section of this update.

And look later this week for a story about the event. We talked with a member of the Rubber City Warthogs, a local group of firefighters and police officers dedicated to helping the families of their colleagues who've been injured or killed.
