Explore the World of Animals at NCPL

The North Canton Public Library offers several options for exploring the world of animals in June. Since the launch of the library’s new logo and accompanying tagline, “explore the world,” all areas of the library are collaborating to explore a common theme each month. As if exploration isn’t exciting enough on its own, the library is rewarding patrons for completing an exploration activity too! It’s so easy:

  1. If you don't already have one, pick up a free guidebook at the library.
  2. Choose and complete one of June’s activities (listed below).
  3. Library staff will validate June’s guidebook coupon for a free ticket to visit the Akron Zoo, and entry in a drawing to win a free family membership to the zoo. (seriously awesome, right? huge thanks to the Akron Zoo for their generosity!)

Adult Exploration Activity Options:
  • Join a Stark Parks naturalist and live animal ambassador for a family program on June 8 to learn how to live well with wildlife and the role rehabilitation plays in our community. (space is limited; registration begins May 15 at 330.499.4712 x311 or the reference desk)

Each month, the library’s special incentives are possible thanks to an “exploration” partner. In June, the Akron Zoo is providing this generous support.

Additionally, the library looks forward to featuring a “meet the need” partner, and collecting in-kind donations for them each month. This month’s “meet the need” partners are the Akron Zoo and Stark Parks “Friends of Wildlife.” Anyone who brings a wish list donation for either of these fantastic organizations will qualify to have their guidebook coupons validated. The Akron Zoo, a conservator of wildlife, provides a dynamic, financially responsible guest-centered animal experience that is energized by innovation and fun. Stark Parks “Friends of Wildlife” program supports the care of parks program animals and injured or orphaned wildlife admitted to the Stark Parks Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Wish lists for both organizations can be found on the library’s website.
