TWO LOCAL WOMEN OPEN TOTALLY NATURAL, ECO-FRIENDLY SPA IN N. CANTON

With summertime and swimsuits upon us, two local women have partnered in a shared dream to open a totally natural and eco-friendly wellness boutique.  Body•Spa•Banquet specializes in massage and bodywork, holistic health coaching, natural nails and nail art.  Tucked into the plaza behind Muggswigz at 5870-A Fulton Drive NW, the sanctuary-like spa caters to health-conscious clients who appreciate organic spa services, including the use of vegan and cruelty-free body oils and nail lacquers

Owners Emily Draher, manicurist and nail artist, and Stephanie Moyer, a certified health coach and massage therapist, took the entrepreneurial plunge with the aid of an Enactus small business grant for women’s businesses.  Their goal is to create a therapeutic spa environment that is comfortable for every family member. Body•Spa•Banquet also hosts wellness information workshops to educate and build community in a healthy, fun, supportive atmosphere.

The unique layout and design of Body•Spa•Banquet is conducive to a relaxed, personal getaway or customized personal parties.  Emily and Stephanie have created a unique niche for hosting spa parties to celebrate milestones such as bachelorette and bridal parties, friend and family reunions, teen birthday parties, and simple co-worker bonding.

The co-owners welcome any occasion for celebration, as they share the philosophy that, “life is about enjoying every day we are given.”  The two women met while working together at a local spa and discovered they share a passion for life, borne of similar grief journeys after losing a parent; they strive to inspire a deep appreciation in their clients that each day is a gift to be savored.

Emily is a self-described nail polish and nail art addict, who is fiercely passionate about natural nail health.  Her blog, “The Laquerologist” (www.laquerologist.com) has more than 1.5 million page views from around the globe and her book, “Idiot’s Guide: Nail Art” is due to be published by Alpha Books in early 2015. Emily graduated salutatorian from North Canton Hoover High School in 2006, then graduated as a Buckingham Scholar from the University of Akron with a degree in biology and environmental science.  She went on to graduate school for two years before deciding to follow the creative path of manicures and nail art, which delights her!  She earned her Managing Manicurist license from the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology at Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture Inc. in Alliance, Ohio.  Her background in the natural sciences and environmental studies has prepared her to specialize in natural nails.  Nail art is one of the latest trends on the runways, and Emily creates mini-masterpieces. Emily’s goal is to create and maintain healthy and beautiful nails that help bring happiness to the lives of her clients.

Stephanie’s time in massage school was transformative in the way she views health and the environment.

Stephanie is also a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the cutting edge program at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. During her training, she studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.  Her coaching includes how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, reduce painful disease-causing inflammation, and integrate exercise and vital movement into daily life.  Stephanie incorporates the concept of bio-individuality – the belief that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs -- in helping people reach their health goals, such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy.  Her most requested services are her 12-Day Detox Program and her Signature Essential Balance Treatment.
