Winking Lizard Structure Showing Progress: Pic of the Day

Construction workers have erected a roof on the structure that will house the new Winking Lizard restaurant at Washington Square

Construction on the building that will house the new Winking Lizard restaurant is coming along at Washington Square.

North Canton Patch snapped this picture Monday, showing the start of walls and a roof that have been erected at the construction site next to Handel's ice cream.

The restaurant is slated to open in the first quarter of 2013.

When North Canton Patch broke the news of the new restaurant heading to Washington Square, this is what we heard from Patch readers on our site:

  • "So excited for both of these changes to the face of Washington Square!" — Heather Johnson
  • " ... glad to see we are getting some more restaurants in NC so we don't have to drive to the strip or Belden all the time!" — Anne Williams

On a related note, the North Canton Planning Commission recently approved a parking lot for customers and employees at the new building.
