Pita Pit, Verizon, New B.A.M. Opening Soon in North Canton

North Canton customers will soon have some new restaurant and retail choices to choose from.

North Canton will see three new storefronts sprout up: B.A.M., Pita Pit and Verizon Wireless in the coming weeks.

B.A.M. (or Body and Mind Healthy Cuisine) is close to packing its bag and moving into an expanded space in Washington Square.

The additional square footage will turn the small, North Main Street eatery into a full-service, eat-in restaurant, according to North Canton Economic Developer Eric Bowles.

Verizon Wireless is under construction and the cell phone retailer plans to open it doors next to the new and improved Body and Mind in the trendy retail development, said Bowles.

Last but not least, Pita Pit, a quick-service restaurant specializing in — you guessed it — pitas, will set up shop inside 1102 N. Main St., in a plaza with Guys Pizza and Booney & Pooch.

Bowles said the eatery is going through the inspections and permit process now, so it's doors will open a little later than the mid to late April projection.

Verizon Wireless has a to-be-determined opening date, but B.A.M. and Pita Pit will likely be ready for business in May.

"There's a lot of activity right now in terms of new business around the city, and we certainly welcome it," said Bowles.
