Main Street Festival; Economic Luncheon; Family Film Fridays: North Canton Events on Tap

Enjoy some Summer fun around North Canton this season.

Looking for community events to round out your summer calendar?

The North Canton Chamber of Commerce is participating in and hosting several festivities that may catch your interest, including: Family Film Fridays starting June 14, the annual community golf outing on June 20, and the 2013 Main Street Festival, said Chamber president Doug Lane.

"We’re in the midst of planning the 17th Annual Main Street Festival, happening August 17-18, and encourage crafters, community organizations and area businesses to consider being a part of the fun," said Lane.

Family Film Fridays will be organized once a month in June, July and August, said North Canton Library Community Relations Manager Christina Weyrick-Cooper.

Cooper encourages families with young kids to come at 7 p.m. and participate in an arts and crafts project where children will turn cardboard boxes into cars they can sit in.

"Mary Poppins" will begin at dusk following the activity at Bitzer Park.

And to appeal to economic-minded folks, the Chamber will be hosting a luncheon featuring Dr. Tim Dunne, vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank in Cleveland.

According to Lane, the banking official will brief the public on the economy's regional and national outlook.

The event will be held June 27 at Walsh University's Barrette Center.
