Graffiti Artists Find Outlet at Zepp's Pizza

The local pizza parlor will hold a graffiti art competition on April 21.

Later this month, Zepp's Pizza will host an inaugural graffiti competition to give local artists a fun and legal outlet to promote their work.

Hoover, Glen Oak, McKinley and Timken High School art teachers have received an invitation with the hope that each school is represented in the event, according to co-organizer and Flynn Marketing owner Alyson Flynn.

Mohler Lumber is building plywood boards that will act as canvasses.

The public is invited as well, and pizza, salads and drinks — along with Honey Bees Sweet Treats cupcakes — will be on sale during the event, said Flynn.

There also will be a DJ and music to give the artists a little inspiration.

For some added incentive, the winner will receive $100 and graffiti bragging rights.
