Dollar Tree Slated to Open in Late August

A Dollar Tree store is set to open its doors in North Canton in late August, bringing to town eight-10 employees.

The business will open up in the plaza that houses at 1597 N. Main St. and at 1589 N. Main St. The Dollar Tree store will be about 8,000 square feet.

"They're taking over three spaces (in the plaza)," said Eric Bowles, North Canton's economic development director. "One was a Verizon store that moved across the street. One was a Realtor, and one was a vacant Blimpie store."

The company hasn't talked yet about its estimated payroll, Bowles said. He said the store will share employees with other Dollar Tree locations.

Marco Contractors are renovating the space and are expected to finish in early August. Estimated value of renovations is $142,000.
