Akron-Canton Airport, YMCA and Councilman Cerreta Among Honorees at Chamber Awards Dinner

North Canton businesses, organizations and individuals were in the spotlight this week as they were recognized by the North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce

The North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce tipped its hat to several businesses, individuals and organizations who've made a positive impact on the community this past year.

The following were honored during the chamber's Annual Awards Dinner, sponsored by Farmers National Bank, at Arrowhead Golf Club Wednesday night.

  • Akron Canton Airport — Business of the Year Award — for its record-setting passenger growth and economic contribution to the region
  • Jester-Coutts Insurance and North Canton Cleaners — Pillar Awards — for their 81 and 85 years of serving the community
  • North Canton Community Building YMCA and the North Canton Student Loan Foundation — Community Service Awards. The Y is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and the Student Loan Foundation its 50th.
  • Councilman Mark Cerreta — Community Leadership Award — for his work on implementation of the North Canton Master Plan, including securing funding for 15 city gateway entry signs
  • Ad Lab and Home Instead Senior Care — Chamber Appreciation Awards — for Jennifer Harrington and the Ad Lab's organization of the annual “Holiday Paws Pantry” and to Home Instead Senior Care for its “Be A Santa to A Senior” program. 
  • David Angione, aka "The Bald Realtor" — The Ellen Gray Volunteer of the Year Award
