1. 'GYPSY' AT THE NORTH CANTON PLAYHOUSE

Where/When: ; 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday
Why Go:
Take a look at our video preview and try to resist heading to the North Canton Playhouse to watch this hilarious drama/comedy about an overbearing stage mom.
Cost: $12 adults and $11 seniors and students

2. 'RABBIT HOLE' AT KATHLEEN HOWLAND THEATRE

Where/When: Kathleen Howland Theatre at 2nd April Galerie & Studios, 324 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton; 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday
Why Go:
Watch the drama unfold on stage: A dysfunctional family goes through the grieving process and strives to heal themselves. Now that's deep.

3. JAZZ, BLUES & SOUL MUSIC AT THE SPOT

Where/When: The Spot, 27 N. High St., Akron; 9 p.m.-midnight Friday
Why Go:
Art, jewelry and live music? Talk about a great combo. You can find more info on the Facebook event listing.
Cost:
A $5 donation gets you two tickets for Thirsty Dog beer (must be 21 and over) and a ticket for the artist raffle. Each additional raffle ticket is $1.

4. THE HITMEN OF NORTH CANTON AT PUCKERS

Where/When: ; 8:30 p.m. Saturday
Why Go:
We couldn't help but include the Hitmen in our weekend lineup after getting this gem in our email inbox from them this week: "Of course we play Beatles and Monkees hits. But what other band will play a hit by a guy with a funny name like Greenbaum and turn around and slap you with songs by Ozzie, Skynyrd, Queen, The Police and Modern English?"

Why Go: 
YMCA members are invited to bring a dish to share and enjoy at the family potluck. The Y will provide tableware and beverages. After you have lunch, everyone heads into the East Gym to play.
