Get Out: July 4 Race, Dance Parties & More

Looking for a little something different to do this weekend? We've got five activities you may not have thought of yet

Where/When: Starts at the ; 8:10 a.m. Monday
Why Go: Well, if you’re not going to run in it, you might as well stop by and cheer on the participants of the race — the largest in Stark County. And if you do plan to run it, you better check out  if you haven't registered yet!

2. DANCE PARTY AT THE 356TH FIGHTER GROUP RESTAURANT
Where/When: ; 9 p.m. Friday-1:30 a.m. Saturday; 9 p.m. Saturday-1:30 a.m. Sunday
Why Go: What better way to celebrate Independence Day than a dance party with your friends and some great music!
Pricing: $5 cover


Where/When: The parking lot behind the ; 8 a.m.-noon Saturday
Why Go: Have you seen the stuff we’ve bought and posted photos of on Facebook? The items speak for themselves! Take a stroll downtown and check out the farmers market — a perfect excuse to get out of the house on a Saturday morning.
Pricing: Free, but prices of goods vary

4. CANTON FIRST FRIDAY’S CHALK THE WALK
When/Where: 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday in the downtown art district of Canton at Court Avenue NW and 4th Street NW
Why Go: Come and watch as more than 20 area chalk artists transform sidewalks and street sections into beautiful masterpieces. The downtown galleries will be open to view artwork. The event also will feature street performances by various entertainers.
Pricing: Free


Where/When: ; 9 p.m.-midnight Friday
Why Go: Enjoy a night out on the Barrel Room patio listening to the sounds of Rolondo. Oh, and those 21 and older, why not try a new beer while you’re there? The bartenders will be happy to help you choose one that you might like!
