Performing Arts Summer Spectacular (P.A.S.S.) Camp

Lake Township Performing Arts Summer Spectacular

The Lake Local Schools Drama Club and the Lake Township YMCA are presenting a summer performing arts camp for any student entering grades 7-12.  They will produce the musical, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.  It will be held in the Lake Performing Arts Hall.
The Performing Arts Summer Spectacular (PASS) camp starts on June 11 and performances are August 10 and 11.  The first and last weeks are Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.  All other weeks the rehearsals are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1 to 4 p.m.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are workshop days. You can check out the calendar at www.lakelocal.org/passcamp.
Except for the first and last week, Tuesdays and Thursdays are workshop days designed to give the kids an in-depth look at different aspects of the performing arts. Scheduled workshops include movement, stage fighting, clowning, voice, and many other fun activities. These are extras that students can use to enhance and sharpen their skills in the performing arts. They can do one or all of them for one flat fee. Obviously, the more they take the more bang you get for your buck and the more they will learn about the performing arts.
To enroll any student in the 8 week PASS camp is $150. To enroll a student in the 12 PASS workshops is an additional $75 (this covers the fees to outside workshop teachers). The fees are low because grants from Arts In Stark and the Hartville Charitable Trust cover most of the expenses.
Family discounts are also available. For the second child in a family it’s $125 for PASS camp and $50 for the PASS workshops. Each additional family member is $100 for PASS camp and $25 for the PASS workshops.
More information, registration and a complete calendar are available on the web at www.lakelocal.org/passcamp.  Go to our facebook page to see staff bios, ask us questions, or stay up-to-date on the camp.
