Melanoma Awareness Silent Art Auction

North Canton Medical Foundation (NCMF) and the Gray and Deitemyer families invite you to a join us for a Silent Art Auction in conjunction with Downtown Canton’s First Friday. The auction is in memory of Ellen Gray and will be held at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6-10 p.m. The goal of the event is to raise money in support of the NCMF’s Cancer Relief Fund.

Energetic and athletic, Ellen radiated health and vitality. Her love for her community was evident through her participation in organizations both in and around her hometown of North Canton, Ohio. She was the heartbeat of her social circle, keeping old friends in touch while bringing new friends together. On October 30, 2006, Ellen Gray was diagnosed with melanoma. Despite all her hope, courage, and strength, Ellen lost her fight at the age of 29, less than a year from her devastating diagnosis.

While battling cancer, Ellen found great solace in painting as a release both mentally and physically from this horrible disease. The efforts for this event are a way of keeping Ellen’s fighting spirit alive and to help support local cancer patients.
