Cheap Date: 'Ice, Ice, Baby' at Canton First Friday

Don't be a baby — it's never too cold for Canton First Friday!

Scarf? Check.

Mittens? Check.

Ability to have fun even though it may be a bit on the icy side out there? Double check.

Sounds like you're ready for Canton First Friday, happening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight in Canton's downtown Arts District. And it truly is a cheap date — it's free!

We've perused the lineup of events and here's what stuck out to us: ice-carving competitions that take place at 7 and 8 with the final battle at 9 (and we're leaving that to the professionals, but you vote for the winner); the movie Ice Age at Canton Palace Theatre (doors 6:30, movie 7 p.m.); and, for those who are feeling a little too chilled, a warming station and free hot chocolate at Ekklesia (Court and 4th).
