Whiz Kids: Justin Barth and Adam Valentine Receive Eagle Scout Award

Two recent graduates of Hoover High School returned to North Canton to reminisce with their pal and fellow 1943 Eagle Scout, Fred Rouse, and receive their Eagle Scout Award. They also deserve a high-five for helping to make North Canton beautiful

This week's Whiz Kids — great kids seem to come in pairs these days — come to us from Kristie Woods, director of development and community relations at
St. Luke Foundation and St. Luke Lutheran Community.

  • Justin Barth, 2010 graduate of  .
  • Attends the University of Cincinnati as a freshman.
  • Adam Valentine, 2010 graduate of Hoover High School.
  • Attends the University of Akron as a freshman.

On March 25, these young men were  honored for their character and efforts as Boy Scouts at St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton. They received their Eagle Scout award and were joined by fellow Eagle Scout Fred Rouse, a resident at St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton. Barth and Valentine spent many hours volunteering at St. Luke Lutheran Community and reminiscing with Rouse about his days as a Boy Scout. Rouse became an Eagle Scout in 1943.

“These two young men put forth the effort to beautify area parks, making benches and mulching as part of their Eagle Scout projects, but also left their mark on the hearts of those they’ve met along the way," Woods said. "Thank you for your time spent at St. Luke Lutheran Community brightening the days of residents who will treasure the moments spent with you.”
