Whiz Kid: Jason Rojas Uses Karate to Make a Difference

Jason Rojas takes the limelight this week. While karate is his passion, Jason definitely has a lot of talents and he uses them all

This week's Whiz Kid comes to us from Renee Rojas, mother of Jason Rojas.

  • Jason Rojas, 11.
  • Jason will attend as a sixth-grader this fall.

Jason holds a Second Degree Black Belt and uses it to help instruct kids working on taekwondo at in North Canton every Thursday. He is also a good student and on the merit or honor roll regularly and competed in the Stark County Math Tournament.

When he's not teaching and studying, you can find Jason playing community soccer through the or playing the saxophone or piano. And he sings, too. He's had several solo numbers in choir this year.

Renee said his overall can-do attitude is his key to awesomeness.

"I am proud of this young man because he is a complete self-starter that takes the initiative and never seems to tire of all of the tasks he takes on. He is very committed to volunteering his time on Thursdays to help instruct at the taekwondo school," Renee said.

"Even though he is only 11, he seems to really understand, value and enjoy being involved in all he chooses to try. This quality of his personality and character makes me very proud of him."
