Viewfinder: A Day With Library Children's Department Head Jamie Macris

We spent some time hanging out in the library's children's department this week. Click through the gallery to see what was happening!

The has a new department head of the Children's Department, .

Macris is a longtime employee of the library and said she's excited with her new role. She took on a tour of the department and showed off many of the learning opportunities that are in store for kids who visit.

One of the upcoming events is the kickoff to the summer reading series, which starts June 3.  The series features weekly reading for kids from 6 months up to 5th-graders.  Storyteller Katie Wright is coming with some animal tales July 16. The program start times vary from 10 a.m. to as late as 6:45 p.m.

There are also prizes for every hour that a child reads as part of the program.
