St. Paul Church Hosts 2011 Health and Wellness Fair

With spring right around the corner — we hope — why not get out and meet some local community members who can help educate you on your body, powerful nutrients and some pretty cool facts you might like to know?

If you have nothing to do this weekend, why not educate yourself on how to live a healthy lifestyle with practical and useful information?

at 241 S. Main St. will host its second Wellness Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Life Center Saturday.

This event is free and open to the public and all ages are welcome — so bring the youngsters.

There also will be two presentations. At 11:30 a.m.,  Micky Wolf, executive director of Affirmation Ministries and a certified spiritual director, will discuss “Ignatian Spirituality: The Wholeness of Being.”

At 12:30 p.m., Dr. Michael James will present “What Every Doctor Should Tell Their Patient.”

The community will also have the opportunity to receive all-day wellness screenings, along with powerful nutritional information and disease prevention.

More than 20 local groups will participate in the event. You'll have the opportunity to speak with pharmacists, learn healthy heart information from nursing students and even show off your jumping skills on a mini-trampoline for Rebounding for Health.

So go on — get out and meet some great people in your community while empowering your mind, body and spirit.
