Planned Power Outages, Tree Trimming Expected in North Canton

North Canton received last-minute notice from American Electric Power of the utility work that's coming to a neighborhood near you.

On Monday night, American Electric Power workers will grab their saws and begin slicing off tree limbs that may potentially interfere with power lines.

The tree trimming will occur in the approximate area of Portage Street near Pittsburgh Avenue to Main Street and Charlotte Avenue, according to North Canton Mayor David Held.

The trimming will run from 11:30 p.m. Monday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Residents in the affected area should expect to lose their power once the trimming is underway.

Due to the loud noise, tree debris will not be fed into wood chippers until 8 a.m. Tuesday.
