Local Children's Healthcare Just Got a Shot in the Arm

A new partnership with the North Canton Medical Foundation will create the first pediatric primary care office for Akron Children's Hospital in Stark County.

On July 1, the North Canton Medical Foundation pediatrics department will welcome Akron Children’s Hospital to its campus.

The partnership creates the first pediatric primary care office for Akron Children’s Hospital in Stark County, according to Ben Teske, director of primary care services at Children’s.

“Our resources, services and network of 21 primary care locations throughout Northeast Ohio will complement the great care that NCMF providers have been offering children of Stark County for more than 40 years,” said Teske.

The arrangement will maintain the Foundation's current staff, office hours and onsite lab and radiology services, said NCMF Dr. John Humphrey.

However, the practice will be renamed Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics North Canton.

It will remain at its current location: 6046 Whipple Ave. NW, Building B, in North Canton.

The following care for infants, children and teens will be provided:

· Well child visits/routine check-ups
· Immunizations
· Sports, school and camp physicals
· Treatment for illness and injury
· Chronic disease management
