Grab & Go Kids Planner: Suggestions for a Super Saturday

We've got a list of hip happenings to keep the kids happy this weekend.

Do you want to spend quality time with your family this Saturday? Here are five area activities that will have you and your crew on the go from sunup to sundown.

Why Go: Take the whole family out to find a few “treasures” and support a good cause, the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. The sale specifically will feature children’s clothing and toys.

2. Katie Wright: Storyteller  

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday at the

Why Go: Children 3 years old and up will enjoy listening to Katie’s exciting animal tales. Parents are welcome for the event, as well.

3. Canton’s Farmers Market 

When/Where: All day Saturday in Canton’s Art District, at the corner of Cleveland Avenue NW and 4th Street NW

Why Go: Have you checked it out yet this year? There is something for the whole family to enjoy at the Canton’s Farmers Market, including a large selection of freshly grown produce by local vendors, live music and activities for children. (We don't want to forget our North Canton Farmers Market, either. It's also Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon behind the .)

4. Sprout Summer Camp 

When/Where: 2 p.m. Saturday at on The Strip

Why Go: Children, ages 2 to 8, are invited to celebrate Sprout, the 24-hour learning channel for preschoolers and older. Kids will enjoy taking part in numerous games and activities alongside their parents.

5. On the Big Screen

When/Where: 7 p.m.-11 p.m. at Exploration Gateway, 5712 12th St. NW, Canton

Why Go: Attend the family movie night featuring an outdoor movie screen overlooking Sippo Lake. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie that will start at dusk. Before the movie, activities for all ages will take place.
