Grab & Go Kids Planner: Easter Activities in the Area
Spend the day before Easter with the family at one or more of these events
Our kids' planner highlights five family-friendly activities and attractions happening in North Canton or in close proximity.
FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
From egg hunts to crafts, we have a number of suggestions for a fun-filled Saturday with your children!
1. Kids are Heroes
Where/When: 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Community Park Complex, 2782 Diamond St. NE, Canton
Why Go: Families are invited to come to the park to make a difference in the lives of individuals in need. Come ready to color a picture, wrap a gift or write a note for someone struggling. The event, sponsored by the Plain Community Library Branch, even will feature local heroes and their stories.
Pricing: Bring a small toy, stickers, a like-new book, new book or a can of soup for those in need.
2. Egg and Candy Scramble
Where/When: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Genshaft Park, 2801 Erie St., Massillon
Why Go: The Massillon Recreation Department welcomes all children 10 and under and asks them to bring a basket to the park for gathering eggs and candy. The Easter Bunny will be present for pictures, too.

3. Easter Eggstravaganza
Where/When: 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at Pat Catans, 4321 Whipple Ave. NW
Why Go: Families will be able to make crafts together and enter for raffles, among other activities. Bring a camera to take pictures at this fun holiday event.

4. Children’s Easter Event
Where/When: 2 p.m. Saturday at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 5155 Eastlake St. NW
Why Go: Children, preschool to fourth grade, can take part in a variety of holiday activities. Those include an egg hunt, Easter story, face painting and a craft. Prizes and snacks also are included in the event. Kids should bring a basket to collect their eggs in.

5. Easter Egg Hunt
Where/When: 4 p.m. Saturday in the gymnasium of the First Church of the Resurrection, 901 E. Tuscarawas St., Canton
Why Go: All children, fifth grade and under, are welcome to participate in the church’s annual Easter egg hunt.
