Grab & Go Kids Planner: Attend a Basketball Game, See Elmo and More

Pick and choose from this week's array of highlighted activities to enjoy with your children

Our Grab & Go Kids Planner recommends five local events and activities for you to do with your children each week.

Those kiddos grow up so quickly. Set aside some family time and take part together in one or more of these fun happenings. You will create precious memories together without having to drive too far.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

1. Family Pop in Playtime at Pump It Up

When/where: Family Pop in Playtime is 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday and 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday at Pump It Up, the Inflatable Party Zone, 1135 W. Maple St., Hartville

Why Go: You will love watching your child bounce all around Pump it Up’s inflatables. Children of all ages jump for joy over the attractive play area, which provides them with hours of laughter and exercise.

Pricing: $8 for children 2 and older, free for parents

When/Where: The varsity boys' basketball team of Hoover High School will play Youngstown Cardinal Mooney at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hoover High School, 525 7th St. NE, North Canton

Why Go: Bring the family out to support the senior Hoover Vikings and cheer the whole team on to victory. What a great way to show younger children that hard work and persistence pay off. This is the last home game of the regular season, so pack the house!

Pricing: An admission fee will be charged for adults and students

When/Where: 2 p.m. Saturday at Borders Books, 6751 Strip Ave. NW, North Canton

Why Go: Who doesn’t love Elmo, the sweet and adorable Sesame Street character? Children of all ages can celebrate the 3rd birthday of their furry, red friend with stories, crafts and music. Elmo will not be making an appearance, but it still sounds like a seriously fun celebration for the whole family!

Pricing: Free

4. Birds program at Lake Community Library

When/Where: 3-4 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Community Branch, 11955 N. Market Ave., Uniontown

Why Go: Celebrate the impending arrival of spring with your child by attending the Lake Community Branch of the Stark County Library’s birds program. Children in grades K-5 will learn about the birds of Ohio. Each child also will create an inviting bird house to hang outside, so the whole family can enjoy viewing some feathered friends in the back yard!

Pricing: Free, but registration is required. Call 330-877-9975 to register or do so online.

5.  Winnie the Pooh production at The Players Guild Theatre

When/Where: 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Feb. 26 to March 7 at The Players Guild Theatre, 1001 Market Ave. N, Canton

Why Go: The Players Guild Theatre’s production of Winnie the Pooh is sure to delight the young and young-at-heart. Winnie the Pooh, the little bear of Christopher Robin, will take part in fun adventures with his best pals, Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit. Pooh’s passion for honey just may get him into some trouble, though!

Pricing: Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for those 17 and younger. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 330-453-7617 or online
