1. City of Green’s Concerts-in-the-Park
When/Where: 7 p.m. Thursday at East Liberty Park, 471 Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Green

Why Go: Bring your own lawn chairs to the park each Thursday evening in July and enjoy an evening of music alongside your family. Concessions will be available for purchase during each concert. Click here for a complete list of the musical groups performing this month.

When/Where: Shows are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Players Guild Theatre,1001 Market Ave. N, Canton.
Why Go: The whole family will enjoy this classic musical about the adventures of Dorothy and her dog Toto down the yellow brick road in the magical land of Oz, where the Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and Tin-man live.
Pricing: Tickets are $17 to $22 a piece. For more information, contact the box office at 330-453-7617. Tickets can be purchased by phone or online.
When/Where: 2 p.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Community Library Branch, 11955 Market Ave. N, Uniontown
Why Go: Children in kindergarten through fifth grade can draw along with cartoonist and storyteller Jeff Nicholas.

When/Where: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday at the Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve, 11929 Beech St. NE, Alliance
Why Go: The Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve Butterfly House and Amazing Garden features Ohio butterflies and moths and hands-on learning stations to convey horticultural and environmental concepts. There also are walking trails and a train ride around the garden!
Pricing: There is no charge for the Butterfly House or the Amazing Garden. Donations are welcome, though.
5. Our Great America at the Canton Garden Center
When/Where: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday by the pergola of the Canton Garden Center, 1615 Stadium Park NW, Canton
Why Go: Children ages 3 and up, accompanied by a parent, can participate in this educational and entertaining program in the Children’s Garden of the Garden Center. After the program is over, tour the grounds to take in the beauty of all the gardens.
