Ground Breaking at Windsor Medical Center

Windsor Medical Center is pleased to announce its addition of approximately 20,000 square feet that will be dedicated to a brand new skilled care nursing unit.  The building will boast 41 premier state of the art private suites, each with a full bath.  Its previous skilled care nursing section will be completely remodeled to allow for new physical therapy areas, as well as providing space for an Adult Day Care Center, which has not been available in the past.  In addition, Home Health Care services will soon be offered.  The Colonies, the assisted living section of Windsor, will remain intact.  However, expansion of The Colonies is projected in the next 2 to 3 years.

On October 9, 2011, Windsor Medical Center completed 50 years of service in the Stark County community.  While the facility has been private pay since its inception in 1961, following the opening of the new building, they will be offering Medicare skilled services.  Windsor’s owner, Thomas R. Swallen, is committed to maintaining the facility’s outstanding reputation regarding the close, personal relationships he & his staff establish with the residents and their families.  Taking on Medicare skilled services will NOT diminish their commitment to provide the superior care that they are known for, to be topped only by their genuine love and support of the residents and their families.

Mr. Swallen and the entire staff of Windsor Medical Center are thrilled to be able to grow the facility at this time.  He expects the project to be completed by January 2013.  They also plan on taking some new approaches to developing and executing innovative ideas, not only to benefit the residents but also the staff.  Windsor Medical Center is very appreciative of the support they have always received from the community and they look forward to improving their ability to further serve the needs of people throughout Stark County.
