Local IFBB Pro Wins the Olympia Bikini Title in Vegas!

North Canton, OH - October, 2 2013 - Local IFBB Pro Ashley Kaltwasser was named the 2013 Bikini Olympia Champion at the Olympia Fitness and Performance Weekend held Sept. 26-29 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Orleans Arena and Las Vegas Convention Center. The Olympia competition features top athletes from around the world who have qualified to compete by winning a pro show. Kaltwasser, who was a "dark horse" coming into the Olympia, bested 22 other bikini pros to take home the coveted title of "2013 Bikini Champion", as well as $20,000 in prize money and the opportunity for endorsements and national media attention.

Kaltwasser has been training with Summer Montabone, CSCS, and the staff at Summer's Fitness, as well as Team VIP (Very Impressive Physique) division since beginning her amateur career.  "Ashley is a champion in more ways than one,” says Montabone, a retired IFBB Fitness Pro.  “She is humble, appreciative, and knows who she is. She handles herself like a gracious champion. She values her journey as a learning experience and is thankful for each opportunity. She truly is a positive role model for bikini, not just because she has the best physique in the world, but also because she is a role model for young women pushing towards their dreams." Words spoken following her Olympia win reflect Kaltwasser's positive and humble spirit: " I was definitely the underdog coming into the show and was also relatively unknown compared to some of the other competitors. Not many people expected me to win. But I liked the fact that I surprised many people. I also surprised myself! My goal coming into the show was top 10. It just goes to show that anyone can have "their day" if they keep working hard!"

 Kaltwasser, a former high school and collegiate track star, entered her first amateur competition in 2011, and quickly rose through the ranks of bikini competitors, turning pro in 2012. Her pro resume is impressive; this year alone it includes top 2 finishes in 5 shows. Other career highlights include 1st Class D and Overall Bikini Champion at the IFBB Team Universe Championships, 1st Class D and Overall Champion at the Arnold Amateur, and winner of the Rockstar Bikini Contest. In addition, Kaltwasser has been featured in Fitness RX Magazine and on FitnessRxWomen.com, where she writes a column called "Keep it Fresh." She is currently sponsored by GNC Live Well, Liquid Sun Rayz, and CJ Elite Competition Wear.
