Sharp showed off new displays in the form of 4K and the worlds first 8K TVs. 4K is a television with four times the resolution of the best current HDTVs. The 8K display shown here has eight times the resolution of our current 1080p televisions. Looking at the large display from a distance of about 3 feet, i could pick out individual's faces in a large crowd shown on the tv.
This is Intel's booth, with the Microsoft booth shown in the background. Intel's display was interactive, using the curved white control panels shown at the lower left. Intel was promoting a new class of notebook computer called the Ultrabook, similar in design to a Macbook Air.
The LG corporation's booth entrance was a gigantic wall of what appeared to be 40" 3D tv's stacked next to each other. LG employees were handing out 3D glasses and show attendees would stand for 10-15 minutes at a time to gaze at the display.
One of the main reasons I attended the show was for new camera equipment. I primarily use Nikon cameras so I was very interested in the recently announced Nikon D4. This is the fourth version of Nikon's flagship sports and news camera, sold for a mere $5,999. The display showed the Magnesium skeleton of the new camera.
Nikon's booth had a model loop and several models of Nikon cameras to test out.

I attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week. The show features over-sized booths from most of the major electronics manufacturers and informational displays from accessory companies. There are also a large amount of booth-sized displays from Asian parts designers and enterprising inventors. The show takes all of three days if you want to see everything, as it is spread out among the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Sands Convention Center and individual suites in the Venitian Hotel.
