Going into the event, I believed that it would be an over exaggerated take on the most extreme cases of bullying. I was surprised to realize that the play took events that happened in Northeast Ohio.

"I Have a Secret," performed at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Monday night, showed exactly what today's students go through on a daily basis. The actors seemed to be more than just performing, and it seemed like they each went through the events they were acting. I believe the play was a perfect example of how bullying exists in today's culture. 

As a Bolich Middle School student, I can say this play struck home for me and my classmates. Honestly, the play shows how one character kills herself after a large amount of bullying. This tragic result might seem very unlikely to some, but in reality, this happens more than people would think.

After the play, I got a moment to speak with a few of the actors. But one thing they said that almost brought me to tears, was to the effect of, if this play saved one life, we did our job.

Those who are being bullied need to remember that things will improve and get better. "...You just have to keep going through it and ask for help and perservere. It gets better it really does. i think we are all living testomonies of that," said one of the performers, Misty Weick.

That was a message the young actress wanted me to convay to the children who are being bullied. If you are being bullied, go talk to an adult who you trust. A school counselor or a teacher or even a principal would do the trick. The point is, get help. If you see somebody being bullied, step in. Even if you don't know the person, you can save their life.
