North Canton residents can attend educational marketing events at the 356th Fighter Group starting Sept. 27 with the Akron Canton American Marketing Association’s Non-Profit Marketing on a Minimum Budget.
“We are happy to have the Akron Canton AMA (American Marketing Association) at our establishment,” said Bob Scofield, owner of the 356th Fighter Group. “This will be a great way for the community to see how much we care about professional education.”
Scofield worked with the local chapter to meet their programming needs. He is enthusiastic about their upcoming event topics, which include non-profit marketing, branding, networking, healthcare marketing, a silent auction, online advertising, social media, research marketing, blogging and marketer of the year.
“Our topics are geared toward all marketing professionals,” said Paul Douglas, immediate past-president and vice president of programming of the Akron Canton American Marketing Association. “We’re hoping that every professional learns something from each of our events.”
Douglas looked at what the majority of marketing professionals were interested in when they signed up to become a member. He feels that people join these professional organizations to help them move forward in their career. By choosing topics of interest with informative speakers, he feels both members and non-members will learn what’s important to today’s marketing professional.
“Our chapter acts like a small family. We’re here to help each other within the community to thrive in our careers,” said Beth Kaboth, president-elect and vice president of communications of the Akron Canton American Marketing Association. “That’s why we open our events to anyone who has an interest.”
Scofield also likes how all community members are welcomed to join the events. He feels this will be a great way to bring together both Akron and Canton at his restaurant.
The Akron Canton American Marketing Association encourages people to become members because of the literature, event discount and increased networking opportunities. However, both members and non-members are invited to their events. For more information, visit www.akroncantonama.org.
