Woman Charged in North Canton YMCA Theft
Caroline Y. Hawley faces a felony charge of aggravated theft and is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the North Canton YMCA Child Care Center
A North Canton woman and former employee of the North Canton YMCA is scheduled to appear in court this week after being indicted on a third-degree felony charge of aggravated theft.
Caroline Y. Hawley, 59, was indicted this month by a Stark County grand jury and will appear in court Friday for her arraignment hearing.
North Canton police say Hawley's charge is connected to the embezzlement of $100,000 from the North Canton Child Care Center, 200 Charlotte St. NW. They believe the theft occurred over a period of seven years, from January 2004 through November 2011.
If convicted, Hawley could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.
