OUTSIDE CLEVELAND, OH -- The Boroughs neighborhood in Uniontown, Ohio is no stranger to water balloon fights.

Locals there have battled it out in an end-of-the-school-year water balloon fight for 15 years now, and we hear it's only gotten bigger and better.

The fight consists of about 5,000 water balloons, and contraptions like a slingshot that launches balloons 300 feet, and dozens and dozens of participants, said Suzette Marinchek. She started the water balloon fight about 15 years ago with her family (sons Logan, 15, Jacob, 17, and Brian, 20).

"It's my favorite day of the year," Marinchek said.

Parents and kids wait until the last North Canton school bus rolls in, and then all heck breaks loose. And it doesn't let up for about 25 minutes — until the last balloon is thrown.

The bus drivers motioned for the kids to throw the balloons at the bus. Glad our drivers are fun loving, kid friendly drivers that share in the fun of the day!

This is probably what promted the NC school district's letter today. Why would anyone think kids could have fun on the last day of school. Maybe this keeps the "fun" outside the bus. Would not want to tell everyone what we did where I went to school on the last day. Hey Leave those kids alone!

Kathy, your photos are great as well. Thanks for uploading them! You captured the slingshot much better than I did in my video!
