St. Baldrick's Foundation Edges Toward $65,000 Goal

There's still time to donate toward the local St. Baldrick's Foundation goal to help them reach $65,000 for childhood cancer research

St. Baldrick's Event organizers want to thank the North Canton community for a successful event March 18 and remind others there's still time to donate to help them reach their $65,000 goal.

Organizers for the Quaker Steak & Lube event say the event say about $58,000 has come in so far.

"We were positively thrilled at the turn out that we had on March 18," said Jaime Lenhart, volunteer event organizer. "We shaved 135 heads and had a hugely successful silent auction. We really can't thank the volunteers, barbers, donors, shavees and our wonderful hosts, Quaker Steak and Lube, enough."

Thinking about donating? You can do so on the St. Baldrick's Event website.

And make sure you check out the North Canton Patch event coverage, which includes comments from Hoover High School junior Kenzie Johnson, who shaved her head that day.
