This is the perfect example why a police dog is needed on the N.C. police force. What are you waiting for North Canton?

A K9 Unit is a great idea, but how much would it cost and where is the city going to get the money when they are already crying about how broke they are?

K9? Are you kidding me? There are crimes that hurt people, and there are crimes that hurt the police. This one falls into the 2nd. No need to encourage the police state expansion any more than it is. If society doesn't gain more than it costs, then we don't need it.
I just hope Tom won't be shot 137 times for fleeing. It amazes me how the police make a simple offense ( i.e.,the offense of being poor, and can't afford insurance), and suddenly you have 8 charges on you that the police exaggerate into criminal of the month. And yet as so often has been said, the real crimes taken lightly. Steal 50 billion from pensions, steal a car, break in a house, get mugged, and the police go ho-hum. DUI's, DUS, drugs, traffic offenses, prostitution & other vices are all made out to be crimes that, if it weren't the police protecting us from, society would certainly fail. I believe the police pursue only those least likely to offer any resistance (mainly the poor). Working poor can help fill the city coffers with DUI and other minor offenses &make criminals of everyone
Police PR shows, like BadBoys, CSI, &Dexter make it seem like the police are in constant work mode to get the bad guy. Yeah right. Anyone who has had the misfortune of having to deal with the REAL police rarely walk away with any kind of satisfaction. If you are on the receiving end, like Thomas here, count on humiliation, jail, &his wallet being drained. And explain to me how society has benefited from this police action?

A police dog would be very beneficial since the NCPD has to rely on Canton City for their police dog when NC needs one for drug searches and tracking. By the way.... innocent people don't run Mr. Really Fed up. :)
