Halloween Candy Hierarchy Poll: Which Candy Do You Eat First?

Whether you're on the giving end or the receiving end of Trick or Treat spoils, everybody has an order in which they eat the candy in their house post-Halloween. What's yours?

Remember when you were a kid and you got home from trick or treating?

You'd dump the booty of candy on the kitchen table and after the perfunctory inspection by mom and dad, you dive in and start chowing down.

Which one did you pick first?

For me, it was the Butterfinger. Then the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

As the days passed, I had a mental list of preference of which candies got eaten next and then next until the least favorite candy remained.

My last in line was the Mary Janes.

What's your favorite? Take our poll or if we didn't list yours, put it in the comments.

And for you party poopers who are going to say, "Is this the most important news in your town, Patch?" I say, lighten up. Life's short, have a little fun. And eat some candy.

I love Smarties and was always happy top score them. Today, I'd eat them first, putting the pink and white ones aside to eat last because they're the sweetest of all the colors. Then, I'd graze the lesser candies and save the Snickers and peanut-butter cups for last.

I'm giving trick-or-treaters all my Baby Ruths first, then the Nestlè chocolate bars, so if I'm stuck with leftover candy, at least I'll have the Butterfingers for myself.

Reese's, Kit Kats, Heath Bars, Butterfingers, and Snickers. It all goes in a candy jar for the kids when they come over. My daughter doesn't eat much candy, so we've probably still got some from last year. I have to clean it out all the time. Thanks for askin', Patch!
