Bites Nearby: at TGD

For those who won't stand for just one Thanksgiving dinner a year, there's TGD

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Check out our Bites Nearby feature in which North Canton Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that's worth checking out. Here's our choice: TGD.

For those of you who crave a Thanksgiving-type meal on a regular basis rather than once a year, there's TGD, located at 3897 Everhard Road in Canton. It's a short distance from North Canton, but it's worth it.

Owners Nino Natale and Ryan Napier opened their restaurant the day before Thanksgiving with a goal to deliver Thanksgiving dinner at a reasonable price, 365 days a year, in a fast-food setting, while maintaining high-quality ingredients.

One heaping entree is the roasted turkey breast with the traditional sides of mashed potatoes and dressing all covered in gravy. A roll and beverage is included in the meal.

Other meat entrees available are ham and roast beef, and sides also include green beans, corn, macaroni and cheese and even cranberry sauce. TGD also offers deep-fried turkey legs (which look huge), soup, salad, sandwiches, turkey nuggets and pumpkin pie.

An average check for two people might come in at about $16.

The walls of the restaurant are covered with signs describing interesting facts about every item they sell.

TGD is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
