Saturday, the Hoover Chess Team captured the Canton Scholastic Chess League (CSCL) championship held at Alliance Middle School. Again, Mitch Fabian led the squad with 5 wins and no losses. James Vaughn and Sean Griswald each had 3 wins, one draw and one loss to give Hoover the win.  Fabian took 1rst place in the individual scoring. Vaughn and Griswald were 5th and 6th respectively in the individual scoring. Tony Pratt, Tim Ott, and Daniel Stewart grabbed three wins each. Nick Cammel achieved two wins and a draw.  Jacob Hart and James Griffin finished with two wins a piece to support the Hoover win. Hoover keeps the travelling championship trophy for this win. The Hoover Chess Team ended their season with a perfect 4-0 record.
